classic cars? Was classic cars manufactured on a production line like today cars are?
Which classic cars have appreciated in value quickest? I want to get a classic car because I love them, but the only way that I can convince my family to let me have one will be to tell them that it's an investment. I know that classic cars appreciate in value, but which ones appreciate the quickest?
How can I get into restoring classic cars? I have always been fascinated with classic cars and was curious how someone got into restoring them as a part time hobby. I have NO experience whatsoever with building or even repairing cars but I really want to learn. Just from doing basic research it seems VERY complicated (bent frames, rusted steel, missing original parts etc...). Any ideas on how to begin? How much would an initial investement on necessary/required tools run?
Looking to learn more about classic cars, where should I start? I am extremely interested in old cars, and someday would like to own a classic car dealership. However, I don't have a great deal of experience and I'm just wondering where would be the best place to start learning. Are there and recommendations anyone has on books, or any other information anyone has to offer would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot!
What classic cars are least/most expensive to maintain? I would imagine it is easier to find parts for 1960s General Motors car than it'd be for a 1960s AMC because GM is still around. I don't know a lot about maintenance of cars, but any classic car I'd get would be worked on by my mechanic. What brands would be easiest to find parts for and hence least expensive to maintain? What brands most rare parts and expensive?
Where could I find information on classic cars? I'm looking for the average price and MPG for the following cars: 1951 Ford 1955,1956, and 1957 Chevrolet 1957 Studebaker 1959 Ford 1959 Cadillac I live in Florida, where would be a good place that still sells classic cars? I saw a commercial that says they play music from the 1950s and sell classics but I forgot the day and place. Anyone know of it?
What are good, cheap classic cars to buy? I am only 15 so I can't go on the roads yet :( However, i love classic cars and i was wondering which are good ones to buy, but also cheap. I was looking to pick a cheap one up that needs work. I am only interested in safe ones, not Minis as they are too low. Also, would it be expensive to insure a classic car at 17? I live in the UK btw

Where can i buy classic cars in sacramento? Classic cars like 56 mercury or 57 bel air style cars? How much would they cost in working (restored) condition, and not working (meaning that i would have to restore or get it restored myself)?
Gas mileage on CLASSIC CARS - How bad is it and can it be made better? Obviously there is a lot more weight with cars made in the 40s and 50s and engines of that period, particularly 6 cylinders, weren't nearly as economic on fuel. Call me crazy but that hasn't kept me from dreaming about owning a street rod even with today's gas prices! Is it JUST a dream or are there ways of getting 20+ MPG out of a classic cruiser? I can think of no other solution save one and so a follow-up question is: What is the feasibility (and cost) of engine replacement to achieve this ultimate goal? Wow, that's a lot of answers really FAST! You guys are great. Since there's been a lot of "depends on the car" comments, I'll add that I've been hunting down 52-54 Buick Specials & Supers specifically but not exclusively. There's a certain "evil" quality to the look of those cars from the front that makes me rub my hands together with a maniacal grin. --------- My soft spot is the transitional designs from 45 to 55 though like most I can't look at a 57 Ford or Chevy without getting drool on my shirt. I prefer the rounder fronts usually but for some reason I don't like Beetles at all. ((sorry VW fans, just not my thing))
Website where you can check fuel efficiency of classic cars? I can find fuel efficiency for cars late 90's to present, but "classic" cars (early 90's and earlier) do not have information on the web that I can find. one car in particular that I am about to buy, a 1985 BMW 2002....I would love to know the fuel efficiency. Thanks!
Why women dont understand the value of vintage and classic cars? Why most of women dont understand or appreciate the value of vintage and classic cars, like if you want to restore one at home and your wife is daily complaining abut it beaing around and asking you to get rid of it and telling you instead of wasting money on your project buy a new car? why they dont understand for example the diffrence between an old great classic pontiac 1970 firebird and a new 2007 Toyota Yaris? my wife openion is the Yaris worth the money you pay and is the real car and the Firebird is a piece of junk, I wonder ???
How come you don't see classic cars anymore? I live in Glendale California, where 100k cars are common. Amg's, bently's, m6's you name it, we have it. The thing i want to ask is where are the Camaro's or the Chevelle's or any other classic cars??!
Why are classic cars 'green/recyclable' but not later models? I watched Classic car DVD's they say recycling classic cars and saving them is green and good for enviroment. So why are people given incentives to buy brand new cars if they scrap their old car (which is not that old anyway, and much newer than these classic cars?) Also these newer old cars are much more enviroment friendly than the much older classic cars! I dont understand, please help? It is a new DVD!
Where can I buy tires for classic cars? I any one out there owns a classic car please help me. I am a new classic car shopper and well I need to buy tires. It is an Imperial Crown 1968. If you know a telephone number or a website I am open for any suggestion.
Owners of vintage and old classic cars? How do owners of vintage and classic cars manage to obtain mechanical parts that need replacing? As parts for these vehicles are no longer manufactured or produced, do they have to place a special order for a one off component and if so, how?
What are the names and makes of some of the more affordable classic rally cars? Just looking for some names and makes of the more affordable rally cars out there. Not the Lancia Stratos that are retailing for $500,000 USD. I was looking at a Lancia Fulvia Coupe, but are there any other good classic rally cars? I guess "good" is a vague term but: reasonably priced, good handling, not underpowered etc. Also, are there any websites with lists or recommendations?
How do you determine the value of classic cars and how do you sell them? When my grand father passed away he left me 3 older cars. A 74 buick electra with 20,000 mi, a 1955 cheve truck (very weathered but with good engine), and a 1943 buick roadmaster with 60,000 original mi in mint condition(all parts original).I am currently driving the electra but i wish to sell it. In fact i want to sell them all except maybe the roadmaster. At any rate i need to know the value of the vehicles as well as the best place to sell them.
Why are classic cars more 'green/recyclable' than later models? The Classic car magazines/DVD's say saving/restoring/recycling a classic car is green and good for the enviroment. But then why are people given incentives to scrap their older car (which is much newer and much more enviroment friendly than a classic car) if they buy a Brand new one, saying that this is 'green' and good for the enviroment to get older cars of the road. This is a contradiction, please explain?
how can i find a base value for classic cars? I'm looking for a way to determine a base value, similar to a kelly blue book, for classic volkswagons. I am mostly looking at the VW Beetles from the 60's. Is there a resource similar to the blue book to help me out?
Is this a good time to invest in classic cars? I have been pondering the idea of investing in some classics now and sell them when the market gets back on its feet. Is this something worth doing? I have a love for the cars so i wouldn't lose interest. Any recommended websites or books on the subject would be great. Thanks.

What is the law concerning "Classic" cars and emissions in Colorado? Im doing a frame off restoration on a 64 Impala. Original engine and transmission are gone, New engine and transmission are from a 2002 Camaro Z28. I want to make sure I am following all emission control laws. Although it is a 1964, the engine and transmission are newer. I would have liked to keep the original engine and transmission, However they were already gone when I purchased this car 3 years ago. Your responses are greatly appreciated.

Do people in the UK have the same love of classic cars as we do in the U.S? We have appreciation for all makes, both American made and foreign made. My first car was a 1952 MG-TD. It is worth around $10000 today. Most classics here don't operate on the road (too valuable), but do Brits drive their classic Jags, MG's, RR's Aston Martin's daily, or keep them in museums and only bring them out for shows?
What's the name of a vintage bubble gum trading card with classic cars featuring people with big heads? My dad, who was born in 1960, used to collect these cards as a kid and he mentioned that there would be classic cars featured on the cards. Inside of the cars though were guys with big heads sticking out of the cars. I guess they were either cartoons or real photos...not sure. He vividly remembers having them as a kid. He wants to get a tattoo of it really bad but we have no clue as to what the name brand is. If anyone has any ideas let me know! I've already done a google search and have had no luck!! Thanks so much :-)
